Spotlight: Upwardly mobile type who made successful reappearance at Newmarket (1m, good) in April and performed even better when second in the Royal Hunt Cup over C&D (good to firm) last month; may not have reached his ceiling just yet and he's a leading contender again off 3lb higher; stable won this race 12 months ago with a similarly progressive 4yo.
Spotlight: Arrived for the Britannia on the back of a hat-trick of wins, the last of them coming in the competitive Silver Bowl at Haydock (1m, good), but he met trouble at a crucial stage at the Royal meeting and his midfield run is best ignored; will be very dangerous if getting the breaks this time.
Spotlight: Began his career with two 7f AW wins and continued his progress with a close second in handicap at Chester (7f, good) four weeks ago, shaping as if he'll be at least as effective over 1m; this is a tougher test of his credentials but he's anything but exposed and needs serious consideration.
Spotlight: Has twice been a close second at York (1m) this term, finishing a place ahead of Bopedro two weeks ago; those runs put him firmly in the reckoning, although he was only ninth in the Royal Hunt Cup over C&D in between; reunited with Ryan Moore who was on board at York in May.
Spotlight: Progressive 3yo who strolled home in a C&D handicap in May and performed even better when a close third in the Britannia here (again good to firm) the following month; that run more than justifies a further 5lb rise in the weights and he's a major player again on a course he clearly handles very well.
Spotlight: Made no impact in the Britannia and he faced a much easier task when landing the odds in Windsor novice (1m, good to firm) next time; back in deeper waters here but he's low mileage, in good hands and hard to rule out.
Spotlight: Hasn't won since last spring but he's been running well, chasing home subsequent Hunt Cup winner My Cloud here in April and meeting some trouble when third over C&D two weeks ago; in the mix again, although others appeal more for the win.
Spotlight: Veteran whose losing sequence goes back 23 races to August 2023; third of 30 in the Royal Hunt Cup over C&D (good to firm) in June and he filled the same place at York two weeks ago; should be thereabouts again.
Spotlight: 7yo who enjoyed his finest hour when winning Victoria Cup here (7f, good to firm) on stable/seasonal debut; hasn't had the rub of the green since, hampered when making headway at Newmarket two weeks ago; yet to prove he's as effective over 1m as 7f, but he goes well on this course and cannot be discounted with Jamie Spencer on board.
Spotlight: 3yo who was campaigned in France and Germany in 2024; promising efforts both starts this year, fifth of 30 in the Britannia over C&D (good to firm; 100-1) five weeks ago; still relatively lightly raced and makes the shortlist.
Spotlight: Ran respectably when third over 7f at York two weeks ago, and he's at least as effective at 1m, but his turf strike-rate is just 1-13 and he was only fifth of six in his group when midfield in the Hunt Cup in June.
Spotlight: Finished nearer last than first in the Britannia and has since been gelded; needs to get back on track but there's nothing wrong with the form of his second places in conditions races in the spring (both winners followed up in Listed races) so he could have a say at likely rewarding odds.
Spotlight: Not straightforward (can race awkwardly and be difficult to settle) but she won twice last year; best recent effort when neck second of five to a progressive winner at Nottingham (1m, good) in June; this is warmer.
Spotlight: Produced a personal best to win at Salisbury (1m, good to firm) in May but twice unplaced off his revised mark since, never the slightest threat at Newmarket on latest; this is stronger and others appeal more.
Spotlight: Had a productive 2024, winning six times, mostly on the AW at Kempton, but he could make no impact when 100-1 for the Royal Hunt Cup on his reappearance and he'll need a career best if he's to get back on the winning trail.
Spotlight: Lightly raced for his age; off the mark in a small field at Doncaster (1m, good to firm) in June but had no obvious excuses when down the field at Hamilton nine days ago and this is far more competitive.
Spotlight: Listed winner in Germany but little impact in three handicaps since moving to Britain; steadily falling in the weights but difficult to recommend on this season's form.

The two major 1m handicaps at the Royal meeting are key pieces of form. Bullet Point and Bopedro chased home My Cloud in the Hunt Cup, while Fearnot (third) and Supido (fifth) posted personal bests behind Arabian Story in the Britannia. All the above should go well again, with Bullet Point especially feared, but TEROOMM had no luck in running in the Britannia and can now gain compensation off the same mark. Cosi Bello brings a different strand of form after a promising second on his handicap debut at Chester and must be considered. Hawksbill was down the field in the Britannia but has since been gelded and may not have shown his full hand just yet.[Richard O'Brien] Show less
